Description:
Impulse responses recorded in the scale model of Abies Grandis forest, constructed in the University of York’s anechoic chamber. The scale of the model was 1:10. The model was constructed with modelled tree trunks and a modelled ground. The materials for modelled tree trunks were aluminium tubes filled with plaster, and the material for modelled ground was an unvarnished MDF board. The positions of the 2 sources and 2 receivers were the same as those recorded in the real forest. Source 1 was positioned with clear sight to Receiver 1 and Receiver 2. Source 2 was positioned with a tree obstructed to both receivers. The sine sweeps were recorded with an array of four directional sound sources pointing in different directions.
